About Me
I’ve loved words from before I could read them. In fact, my mom felt relieved when I learned to read because I would entertain myself for hours (and she didn’t have to do it, anymore!).
I love words because they bring people together. Wherever there are words, there’s a story or an idea being communicated. From there, people can think, discuss, ponder, make decisions, and experience life together.
I’ve written, in different ways and forms, since before grade school. I started writing more seriously after I got my Master’s degree, when I realized it was my time to seize life around the middle and live it for all it’s worth.
Within a year, I’d completed two drafts of a novel and started my own business, writing for websites like Wisebread.com and producing copy for non-profit organizations whose vision I care about. I’ve slowly expanded, building up a clientele of people who care not only that their ideas get expressed, but that they’re expressed with the best words possible, words that will draw people in and not push them away.
When I’m not writing, you can often find me reading. My reading material spans a large arena, from religion and philosophy to literary fiction to space opera to memoir and beyond. I love learning, and have found that my writing is richer when I can bring what I’ve learned back to it.
Every once in a while, you’ll find me doing something that has nothing whatsoever to do with the written word. Then I’m usually outside, walking, hiking, and just enjoying the fresh air, sitting around my living room spending quality time with people I care about, or standing in the kitchen, wondering what to make for dinner.
